What is the Community and Inclusion Service?

Our Community and Inclusion Service promotes mental health awareness and supports individuals in marginalised communities. We are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive environment for:

  • LGBTQIA+.
  • Asylum seekers and refugees.
  • Ethnic minorities. We understand the unique challenges faced by these communities and strive to offer tailored mental health resources and support to ensure everyone has access to the care they need.

How Can I Access the Community and Inclusion Service?

What can we offer?
  • 1:1 Support: Personalised assistance following the 5 Ways to Wellbeing Model.
  • Safe Space Groups: Opportunities to connect and discuss topics affecting your community.
  • Onward Referrals: Links to additional services for comprehensive support.
Who can access the service?
  • Anyone who is 16+ and lives in Swindon or is registered with a Swindon GP.

 

  • People who are LGBTQIA+, asylum seeker/refugee and/or ethnic minority communities.

Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Saturday: Closed

Sunday: Closed

What people ask about the most…

How frequent is the 1:1 support?

You can receive support every 4-8 weeks for up to a year, with a 3 month pause between re-referrals.

If I belong to one of the communities mentioned above, will that mean I will automatically be referred to this service?

Not necessarily, we want to ensure you are getting the right kind of support and will work with you to ensure you are receiving the best support available.

I am working with a service other than the Community and Inclusion service. Can I still access the support?

Of course! You have referred into S&G Mind and belong to the community that the service supports. It does not matter which service you are working with if you want to join our service.

Do I have to be referred to S&G Mind to access the safe space groups?

Yes; in order to join one of our safe space groups, you will first need to complete a referral form.
